This Handbook updates and expands the first Handbook of Key Economics Statistics which was published in 1989. The data series include monetary, financial as well as real sector data. While the original objective has been maintained, that is, to present a long time series, the evolution of the economy has led to the discontinuation of some series and the redesign of other series.

The Face of Man Vol. 2: The Dr. Eric Williams Memorial Lectures 1993-2004
This second volume presents a compilation of the eight lectures delivered over the period 1993-2004 in the Dr. Eric Williams Memorial Lecture series hosted by the Central Bank. Professors Orlando Patterson, Ali Mazrui and Amartya Sen (Nobel Laureate) discussed various aspects of ethnic challenges in dual and plural societies. Professor Henrickson focused on challenges in the area of international diplomacy for small states in the Caribbean. Professor Ruth Grant presented a conceptual discussion of ethics and politics. Both Dr. Eduardo Aninat and the President of Botswana, His Excellency Festus Mogae concentrated on economic issues. Sir George Alleyne returned to the lecture series to warn the region of the threat of the HIV/AIDS pandemic to Caribbean development.

History of Money and Banking in Trinidad and Tobago from 1789 to 1989 (pub. 1989)
Traces the development of money and commercial banking in Trinidad and Tobago from as early as the 19th century to 1989. It focuses on the arrival of Canadian banks and the establishment of the Central Bank in 1964, as well as the introduction of banknotes as the formal economy became increasingly monetized. Expansion, localization and the introduction of non-bank financial institutions are all covered in this study.

The Face of Man: The Dr. Eric Williams Memorial Lectures (pub. 1994)
This is a compilation of the first ten lectures delivered by some of the finest intellectuals from the Caribbean, Latin America and North America in the Dr. Eric Williams Memorial Lecture series. The lectures, hosted by the Central Bank, cover a range of issues that are of particular relevance to the economic, social, cultural and political development of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. Sir Arthur Lewis, Dr. Henrique Iglesias, Dr. Javier Perez de Cuellar and Professor Kari Levitt addressed the issue of economic development in the context of the international environment. Professors Errol Hill and Ken Ramchand as well as Sir Phillip Sherlock focused on the creative arts, culture and nation-building. Professor George Alleyne looked at health issues and the effects on economic and social development. Sir Alister McIntyre dealt with the University of the West Indies, while Mr. Justice P. Telford Georges addressed constitution-making in the Caribbean.
