Mortgage Market Reference Rate
On February 29, 2024, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago provided an update on the Mortgage Market Guideline and Reference Rate.
Following representation by the Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BATT), the Central Bank agreed to suspend the calculation of the Mortgage Market Reference Rate (MMRR) for a 2 year period commencing October 1, 2021. Over this period the MMRR will remain at 3.00 per cent. Participating institutions will also be allowed more flexibility to lower their mortgage rates outside of the anniversary dates of the mortgage contracts, and more than once per year.
As at September 2021, the Mortgage Market Reference Rate remains unchanged.
As at June 2021, the Mortgage Market Reference Rate remains unchanged.

As at December 01, 2020 the Mortgage Market Reference Rate remains unchanged.
