Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility
The Bank strives to be a good corporate citizen. It is guided by a Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, which fosters employee involvement in community organisations and support for causes that would alleviate difficult circumstances for less fortunate citizens. The approach concentrates on three primary areas:
Through this programme, the Bank supports several initiatives and organisations nationally. These include the Voice of Lupus Foundation, the Down Syndrome Family Network, the Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Moms for Literacy, Healing with Horses Foundation, Chosen Hands, the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities, the Alzheimer’s Association of Trinidad and Tobago, and Rotary International, among others.
One of its major CSR projects was beautifying the Cascade School for the Deaf in 2019, where staff members refurbished classrooms and painted a mural with motivational words to create a more welcoming space for students. In 2023, a powerful engagement with the non-governmental organisation Chosen Hands to host An Evening of Art and Fashion brought a new awareness of the role of the Bank in communities. In honour of the Bank’s 60th Anniversary in 2024, Pan Jazz on the Plaza, an unforgettable evening of music, wine, and cheese for a cause benefitted the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities, the Alzheimer’s Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
