On December 22, 2022 the Central Bank relinquished emergency control over British American Insurance Company (Trinidad) Limited (BAT). The Central Bank had exercised such control since 2009. This follows the Bank’s exit from emergency control of Colonial Life Insurance Company (Trinidad) Ltd. (CLICO) on December 1, 2022.
