Vacation Internship Programme
The Bank has an annual Vacation Internship Programme (VIP) which started in July, 2004. This annual programme is one of the Bank’s key outreach initiatives aimed at providing the country’s future leaders with meaningful work experience.
The VIP targets undergraduate students pursuing degrees in areas of relevance to the Bank’s operations. Students who have completed their first or second year at university are encouraged to apply. The programme seeks to develop essential skills which interns would need to take with them into the future world of work. Mandatory training and development sessions are conducted in subject areas such as Personal Financial Planning, Office Commandments & Healthy Workplace Communication, Career Management and also Preparing for the World of Work. Mentoring is an important element of the Vacation Internship Programme and each intern is assigned a mentor. Mentors are staff volunteers who have an interest in coaching and guiding young people.
2021 Vacation Internship Programme
Due to the covid-19 pandemic and given the current developments, we regret to advise that the VIP will be cancelled for 2021 as it is not practical under the circumstances. The Bank looks forward to hosting this programme in 2022.
